Healthy Relationships is for neurodivergent young people in the Illawarra area.

How We Help

You’re invited to share any challenges you might be facing with our experienced counsellors and they’ll offer practical strategies to help you build confidence and healthy relationships.

What to Expect

Our courses are designed to be engaging and encourage active participation and conversation. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss your own experiences if you want to, as well as take part in useful role-playing activities.

This group workshop is available face-to-face at Wollongong Art Gallery.

Don’t miss this special FREE in-person group at the Wollongong Art Gallery.

This popular group will be run for the first time out of Wollongong Art Gallery’s gorgeous in-house workshop space.

Participants will be provided with a care pack containing art resources to use as they journey through this group – re-connecting with themselves, and learning skills for living, living and relating.

You don’t have to be an artist at all to join! This group is a gentle, safe, and fun space, facilitated by Relationships Australia NSW’s specialist Ability Groupwork team of down-to-earth and friendly counsellors. The group will include a tour by the Wollongong Art Gallery team through the main exhibitions showing in the gallery.

What you’ll learn.

This program is designed to help you:

Identify the characteristics of healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships
Learn strategies for building and managing positive connections
Find out ways to effectively communicate with one another
Develop skills to identify and regulate emotions
Use art and craft activities to reflect on relationships in your own lives
Access post-group support to stay connected with helpful services and people

Our group workshops are perfect for those looking to build their relationship skills in a safe, supportive and collaborative group environment, led by our expert facilitators. We cover a huge range of topics, from parenting techniques to developing mental wellbeing practices – and offer groups throughout the year, both online and face-to-face.
If you’re unable to attend a session, please contact our client services team by calling 1300 364 277 or emailing us, and we will let your Group Leaders know. Please note – for those who’ve been court-ordered to attend one of our group programs (such as our Men’s Behaviour Change program), participants must attend at least 80% of the workshop’s scheduled sessions in order to receive a statement of attendance.
