Relationships Australia NSW Supports the Voice to Parliament

In a powerful show of unity, and with the support and guidance of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and advisors, Relationships Australia NSW has joined 70 other organisations in a joint statement to support the Voice to Parliament.

Led by Reconciliation Australia, the statement affirms that, “recognition and voice have been at the heart of the reconciliation movement for decades” with the path to reconciliation “founded on respectful relationships.”

As an organisation intrinsically devoted to helping people, families, workplaces and communities build and maintain respectful relationships, Relationships Australia NSW strongly advocates for any measures that promote positive relationships between the First People of this land and all who call Australia home.

We are driven by the lived experience, knowledge, wisdom, and cooperation of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who contributed to and developed the Uluru Statement from the Heart, along with those they represent. They are the experts in determining what is best for their communities.

It’s essential that we work together to foster a harmonious, strong, and thriving nation where everyone feels equally valued, respected, empowered, nurtured, and heard. By supporting a Yes vote in the Referendum, we believe that a Voice enshrined in the Constitution is a crucial step towards achieving that.

We encourage everyone to learn more about this important referendum as the date to vote draws closer.
