Overview

Who It's For

Kids in Focus is an online parenting course for separated parents, looking to support their children during and after divorce or separation. You’ll need to complete the course as a prerequisite before attending our Family Dispute Resolution mediation services.

How We Help

Kids in Focus will give you well-researched insights into children’s unique experiences of separation, as well as valuable insight into how you, as a parent, can support them through this time.

What to Expect

The interactive online course takes roughly 75 minutes to complete. It’s suitable for most levels of literacy and can be done in your own time.

Children impacted by family separation can sometimes struggle to adapt.

Family separation can be a difficult and painful time for everyone involved. We know that parents want the very best for their kids. Children need to:
Feel safe and loved by both parents
Know that it’s OK to love both parents
Feel that their needs are the priority for both parents
Not be in the middle of their parents’ conflict
Be prioritised during their parents’ decision-making process

We can support you to:

01
Support your children during and after divorce or separation
02
Improve communication with your child about your separation
03
Develop an understanding of the ways kids can react to their parents' separation
04
Make decisions and agreements that prioritise the wellbeing and safety of your child
05
Ensure your children go on to have happy, healthy relationships of their own in the future
