The Hunter Branch of Relationships Australia NSW has been in operation for the past 30 years. The Centre has grown from humble beginning in a converted house in inner city Newcastle to now housed in a purpose designed building in Broadmeadow with 30 clinical and administrative staff. With off street parking and close proximity to bus and trains services, the Hunter Branch of Relationships Australia NSW offers a range of counselling (individual, couple and family), groupwork and mediation services. The Regional office also specialises in Family and Domestic Violence Services including the Men’s Behaviour Change Program, Taking Responsibility.

Meet one of our friendly staff

Matt Garrett Centre Manager for Relationships Australia NSW in the Hunter. Matt has had an association with Relationships Australia NSW for nearly 20 years, however he has been the Centre Manager for the last 10 years. Matt’s main role aside from managing the day to day running of the Centre, is to ensure clients have a timely, respectful and helpful experience from the many skilled and experienced staff.

Children's Contact Centre

Our Children’s Contact Service provides support for children and their separated parents to build and maintain secure relationships through supervised contact visits. It also offers a place for the safe transfer of children between separated parents and/or carers.


Our counselling services are a convenient, affordable way to get the support you need without the requirement of a physical appointment.

Relationship Education Programs

Providing a wide range of group programs and seminars that support whoever walks in our doors to face the challenges that relationships present.

Employee Assistance Program

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports employees of organisations in dealing with personal, family and/or work-related concerns that may impact their wellbeing, work performance, health and safety, or workplace morale.
