In the new year, once people have had the chance to slow down and reflect on their goals, they often reach out to us wanting to invest in their learning and development. Some are considering a career change and others want to grow new skills or deepen existing ones.
If this is you, you’re in the right place. We offer workplace and professional training, clinical supervision, and graduate diplomas to support people in their fields of work. Depending on your role, industry, and professional goals, some of our programs might suit you better, or some could complement each other.
We’re exploring each of our programs so you can understand who they’re for, what you can learn, and how they’ll contribute to your professional growth.
Accidental Mediator: informally managing conflict
Our Accidental Mediator workshop trains people to deal with and resolve everyday disputes between two people, before they become bigger issues.
The program equips participants with the knowledge and tools to facilitate constructive dialogue, identify underlying issues, and guide disputing parties towards mutually agreeable solutions.
It suits all industries and can benefit everyone, including managers, HR teams, and customer service and client-facing staff.
Accidental Counsellor: supporting people in distress
Have you ever found yourself offering a shoulder to lean on for colleagues, clients, friends, or family who are having a tough time? The Accidental Counsellor program is designed for individuals who unintentionally support people experiencing emotional distress.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to manage emotionally stressful situations, provide support without offering advice or solutions, and develop their own coping mechanisms. The course also covers what to do if you’re worried someone is feeling suicidal and making appropriate referrals.
Similar to Accidental Mediator, it’s ideal for people in any industry, particularly client-facing roles like customer service, front-line workers, hairdressing, and education.
Clinical Supervision: enhancing professional practice
With over 75 years of experience in the relationships sector, we employ highly skilled and experienced clinical supervisors from diverse professional backgrounds, including psychology, social work, mediation, counselling, and mental health.
Clinical supervision offers people in these industries opportunities to reflect and discuss their work in a safe and confidential space with a trained peer. We’re strong advocates of people receiving clinical supervision as it helps them improve the quality of their service, prevents burnout, boosts client outcomes, supports people to manage challenging situations, and can help you work towards your own professional goals. Think of it as professional mentoring.
We provide a range of supervision, including one-on-one, group, specialised (like domestic and family violence or trauma), and for those in leadership roles.
Graduate Diplomas: gaining recognised qualifications
In partnership with Relationships Australia Victoria, we deliver graduate diplomas in Relationship Counselling and Family Dispute Resolution. The post-graduate training enables people to specialise in their respective areas and be qualified to work in various community sector roles.
Our graduate diplomas are facilitated online through a blend of live webinars and self-paced learning. Students will also participate in a fully coordinated, 50-hour work placement in New South Wales in the final semester.
Group Leadership: upskill in facilitation
As industry leaders in the groupwork space, we’re passionate about constant learning and sharing our knowledge with others, which we do in a couple of ways.
Our Effective Group Leadership course, which we provide online and in-person, is for team leaders and facilitators who want to deliver more engaging and interactive groups. Participants will learn different communication styles, managing challenging dynamics, and running creative exercises.
In 2025, we’re also hosting a Transformative Online Groupwork Symposium, in conjunction with Western Sydney University and Interrelate. Over two days, you’ll hear from experienced practitioners across Australasia and take a deep dive into practical online sessions.
