Children's Contact Service

Our Children’s Contact Service provides support for children and their separated parents to build and maintain secure relationships through supervised contact visits. It also offers a place for the safe transfer of children between separated parents and/or carers.

Who is it for?

Do you need supervised contact and/or changeover services for your children since you and your partner have separated?

Our Children’s Contact Service provides support for children and their separated parents to build and maintain secure relationships through supervised contact visits. It also offers a place for the safe transfer of children between separated parents and/or carers.

What will it be like?

We will work with you, providing resources and strategies to help children maintain positive and meaningful relationships with their parents or other family members. Our goal is to assist you move towards unsupervised self-managed arrangements whenever possible.

The service we provide is for six months after which, if you pass the assessment by the Coordinator of the Children’s Contact Service, you may attend our supervised group contact sessions for an additional six months.

This service is funded by the Attorney Generals Department.

How can it help me?

This service is also available for children to maintain and build relationships with extended family members such as grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles when there are concerns about child safety. In all situations centre staff take a non-judgemental approach while always ensuring a safe environment for children.

Fees

Fees can vary from centre to centre but are usually based on a sliding scale depending on household income.
