Sex, Love & Dating - for Men
Who is it for?
This group program is for all men (cisgender and transgender) and non-binary people living with a disability in NSW.
This group program is run online by our Disability Royal Commission counselling team, based at our Illawarra Centre in Wollongong.
The program will cover:
- Developing self-care practices that are right for you
- Boundary setting and keeping yourself safe in relationships
- Dealing with and managing feelings including sadness and loneliness
- Post-group support - staying connected with helpful services and people
- Learning about and practicing “I matter / You matter” styles of relating
Week 1: Me, Myself & I – The Most Important Relationship I’ll Ever Have
Learn about the importance of self-esteem and strategies for developing a self-care practice that works for you.
Week 2: I Really Like Them. What Now?
Discover more about communication and healthy relationship styles, and the steps involved in asking that special someone out on a date (or more dates)!
Week 3: Hooking Up Safely: Understanding Consent and Boundaries
We’ll be discussing intimacy and sex, online and offline, and what we need to do to stay safe and keep others safe.
Week 4: The Whole Package
Reflect on the key learnings and role-play strategies around healthy relationship styles and hooking up safely. Learn more about helpful services, apps, and products to help you to live your best dating life.

Upcoming group program dates
Prior to the group starting, our facilitators will have an individual online session with each participant to gain an understanding of needs, provide an opportunity to ask questions or voice concerns and solve any technical issues around accessing the online group.
