Handling stress in challenging times

The ‘Handling Stress in Challenging Times’ online workshop is designed for participants to identify the signs of stress and help them learn how to manage their own stress responses and develop resources to assist them to cope in this current climate of COVID-19.

Who is it for?

Living within the constraints of social isolation as a result of COVID-19 protocols means that there is reduced social contact with the outside world and at the same time, increased intense close contact with other household members be they partners, children or flatmates or increased loneliness if living alone. The ‘Handling Stress in Challenging Times’ workshop is designed for participants to identify the signs of stress and help them learn how to manage their own stress responses and develop resources to assist them to cope in this current climate of COVID-19.

What will it be like?

COVID -19 will frame the rest of our lives. Besides the health effects, losses of family or friends and economic chaos that many of us have experienced, as a society we have slowed which has given opportunity to refocus on the central values that define us. Social distancing and the unknown have created epic levels of stress and anxiety across all our communities. This seminar will look at how you can better respond to this underlying stress and focus on the value of being in this together, with the aim of benefiting our health and well-being. It is often as something is removed or restricted in our lives that we grow through learning to cope in alternative or different ways.

Our seminars include 8-12 participants. The group leaders provide information, facilitate discussion, allow for self-reflection, goal setting and learning new skills. You will experience a positive, practical approach that builds on strengths within yourself and in your relationships. Participating in a seminar program is an effective way to gain the confidence to turn negative ways of managing stress and anxiety into positive ones, manage strong emotions constructively and create the future you want.

How can it help me?

The seminar will help you to learn more about managing your stress within  your relationships. It will help you to focus on just “being” and not “doing” and this may be hard if you have always defined your life by your work.
